It’s a family

Welcome to my first post!

My name is Rick Labelle. I’m married to my wife Andrea, who I began dating in 1988. It took us a hell of a long time to get married but we did it in 2001 and it’s been fantastic ever since.

We live in Ottawa, Ontario with our two boys, Colin who’s five and Adrian, who just turned one. However, it doesn’t end there! My mother in-law, whom I refer to as “Mrs C”, an elegant Aussie sheila with one hell of an accent and our live-in caregiver, Rika, who just arrived from the Philippines, also live with us. I really wonder If they understand what the other is saying?

I decided to write this blog as an extension to my failed attempt at stand-up comedy.  I did two years of stand-up at Yuk Yuk’s and although I enjoyed it immensely (and was always welcomed back), the thought of working weekends and being away from my family just never appealed to me. However, that’s not to say that I’ve lost the comedy bug! My family and home are pure comedy gold. Hey, I have a nanny and mother in-law living here! So instead of rehearsing material every night in preparation of a 6 minute set, I hope my shared family experiences will keep you entertained.
